Please be aware, that we are only able to accept vocations from those who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of New Zealand.

 

Enquiry

This is not a stage of commitment, but a time where, mutually, both a man and the LEB considers the possibility of his moving forward in discerning a vocation with us.

Aspirancy

Minimum of 1 month.

Aspirancy begins with a period of extern aspirancy, during which the candidate prepares himself for admittance to living in community which starts with the second phase – intern aspirancy, which lasts a minimum of one month. An aspirant may or may not continue on to postulancy – this is part of the discerning process.

Postulancy

Minimum of 9 months.

Novitiate

Minimum of 12 months.

At this stage the brother takes a “religious” name and receives the habit without the scapular.

Temporary Profession (Juniorate)

Minimum of aprox. 6 years.

Two separate periods of temporary profession precede life vows. Both periods lasting 3 years. Allowing suitable time to consolidate one’s vocation prior final profession, should this be pursued. A brother receives the scapular at his first temporary profession.
